2022

The Black Friday sale at Best Buy in 2022 was pretty typical of previous years. Unsurprisingly a major focus of the ad was deals on large screen television sets and laptop computers. This year the front page deals included a 50" Insignia LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV for only $149.99, up to $200 of Apple MacBook Air laptops, the KitchenAid Pro 5 Plus Stand Mixer for $199.99 (a savings of $300!), and $150 off any Dyson V10 Animal stick vac. TCL large screen televisions were up to 50% off with lower level savings for other brands including Samsung (which saw up to $300 off) and Sony Bravia whose best offer was a 65" OLED A8H Series 4K UHD set at $1799. LG flat screens, mostly at smaller screen sizes, were up to $200 off and made for a decent lower priced option. Of course since this is Best Buy, they also had deals on all the standard electronic peripherals including $160 off the LG2.1 Channel Soundbar/Subwoofer package (LG SL4Y), and $130 off Sony's comparable model (HTS350). Roku and Amazon Fire TV sticks were also prominently featured at $20 off a piece to make for easy gifting. A category that is relatively new for gift giving is Smart Home items which Best Buy offers in spades! They had the Amazon Echo Show 5 for half price at $45, the Ring Video Doorbell 3 at $70 off, and various home exterior camera surveillance packages at up to $100 off. For everyone's favorite gamer, Best Buy had select console game titles as low as $19.99 and select Nintendo Switch games marked down to $39.99. We didn't see quantities of new PlayStation 5 or XBOX Series X consoles available as we had hoped, but they did have a few online at random times for lucky shoppers who were in the right place at the right times. Best Buy did have plenty of accessories available though with Xbox controllers starting at only $39.99 and various Turtle Beach Recon 200 headsets at 50% off. Laptop deals are another place where Best Buy tends to do pretty well during Black Friday. This year they had the HP 14" Touchscreen laptop (6404882) for $499.99 and $500 off the HP 15" Touchscreen laptop (6404495) for only $1099.99. You could also save on tablets, if that's more your style, with up to $150 off select new Apple iPad Pros, up to $350 off Surface Pro 7s, and even Samsung tablets starting at only $100. Lastly, Best Buy had a few offers on major appliances for your home. In addition to an overarching offer of a free $100 Best Buy gift card with any two appliance $999+ purchase, they also had a 28 cuft 3 Door French Door Samsung refrigerator (RF28T5021SR) for only $1499 (or $1799 with external ice maker), up to $530 off select Samsung FreeStanding Ranges, and $599.99 each for a Samsung Front Load Washer/Dryer pair. Similar savings of up to $750 off select large appliances from LG was also available. Interestingly, Best Buy's 2022 Black Friday ad did NOT feature any music or movie selections at bargain bin prices which they typically do each year. However, one keen shopper did report that half price savings were available online and in store, they just were not advertised. I guess Best Buy is using their space to feature the highest dollar deals rather than the stocking stuffer items!
